1.       Symposium Hours

The Grand Theatre opens at 12:00 pm and the Regina Rosen Auditorium opens at 12:30 pm. The event will begin at 1:00 pm and will conclude at 8:00 pm.


2.       How to Get Tickets

In person: Tickets are available at the Grand Theatre Box office, 218 Princess St., Monday through Saturday, 12:00 pm to 6 pm and two hours prior to all performances.

3.       Are Subsidized Tickets Available?

Yes, a limited number of subsidized tickets are available for those who require financial assistance. These tickets will be free. To be considered for a subsidized ticket to attend The Kingston Climate Change Symposium, please complete the Subsidized Ticket Form.


4.       Accessibility

The Grand Theatre is an accessible building. The Grand Theatre welcomes the diversity of its patrons and visitors and is committed to working with individuals to remove barriers to participation where possible. 


5.       Re-entry Policy

All ticket holders will be allowed to enter and exit the Grand Theatre throughout the day. Tickets must be presented each time to be admitted back into the Grand Theatre.


6.       What to Bring

Not just a good attitude… but a GREAT attitude! And your ticket!


7.       What not to Bring

  • Outside Food – A personal-sized food item is allowed. Please note that The Kingston Climate Change Symposium is a waste-free event; please refrain from bringing any food wrappers.  For any food waste or wrappers, please either dispose of it at one of our Waste Sorting Stations or pack it up to take home with you
  • Glass containers of any kind
  • Professional camera equipment or audio/visual recording equipment
  • Anything really valuable. Seats are general admission and there are no lockers available on site to store purses or backpacks. Theft is not common but better safe than sorry


8.       Coat Check  

Coat check will be available at the Grand Theatre for a small fee of $2.00. Cash only


9.       Food & Drink

Delicious vegetarian food will be provided in the form of light refreshments during our wellness break at 2:15 pm and during our reception-style dinner at 5:15 pm. Food will be catered by CRAVE Coffee and Bread and Butter Bakery & Fine Pastries.

Drinks will be available at the Grand Theatre bar. A wide variety of beverages including beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks will be served. The bar accepts debit and credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, AmEx) for purchases.  This is new for the 2017/18 season.


10.       Can I Bring my Drink into the Auditorium During the Event?

Patrons may bring drinks into the auditorium during this event as long as they are not served in glass containers. If you are not sure what drinks or containers are permitted inside the theatre, please ask the ushers or other theatre staff.


11.   Free Water Stations

A water bottle refill station is located inside the Grand Theatre to use at your convenience and satiate your thirst. We encourage everyone to bring their refillable water bottle to the event.


12.   Getting There

‘Walk the talk’ and consider taking public transportation to the theatre. Plan your trip with Kingston Transit’s Trip Planner. Alternatively, we encourage car cooling, walking or, if conditions and personal comfort permit, cycling.


13.   Where Can I Park?

The Grand Theatre does not have a designated parking lot, but there are several options nearby. Chown Memorial Parking Garage is directly behind the theatre and offers easy access to the rear doors. Street parking in downtown Kingston is limited.
