This will be a brief examination of the current reality of waste diversion in Kingston from our perspective as Waste Less Junk Removal, an organization that provides junk removal services with the goal of maximizing what we can keep out of the landfill. We will address what is required to make waste diversion possible in Kingston, and the importance and pitfalls of recycling in all its complexity. Waste diversion presents many challenges, for reasons practical, economic, and cultural in nature.
