Kingston Community Climate Action Fund: School Food Waste Recycling Pilot
The Kingston Community Climate Action Fund (KCCAF) is supporting a new food‑waste recycling pilot in local Limestone District School Board schools, turning everyday lunch waste into meaningful climate action.
Donations help bring food‑waste recycling directly into school cafeterias and classrooms, reducing methane emissions while giving students hands‑on opportunities to learn about sustainability and climate responsibility.
This is local giving with measurable results: contributions fund equipment and education that divert food waste from landfill, build long‑term sustainable habits, and create real climate benefits right here in Kingston.

Land Acknowledgment:
Sustainable Kingston acknowledges that our work takes place on the traditional territories of the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee, and Huron-Wendat Peoples. We recognize their deep and enduring relationships with this land and water, and we honour their stewardship since time immemorial. Guided by our mission to enhance the livability and resiliency of Kingston, we commit to walking alongside Indigenous Peoples as we take climate action, strengthen community resilience, and build a more sustainable future together for the next seven generations.
