About the Member:

Harlowe Green is a sustainable living store and bulk refillery that is located in Frontenac, Ontario. Thoughtfully selected products are available in bulk refill or reusable mason jars. Harlowe Green grew out of the need for access to low waste living goods and refill items in a rural area. Refillery and sustainable living goods are now delivered to doorsteps within the Kingston region and the Quinte region every week, and our number of small business partnerships that offer order pick-up and our goods across regional rural communities is growing.

While there is a desire by so many good people out there to 'do better,' it can be tough to know what to do and where to start. Follow along with our blog or social media for little ideas of how to make changes for you and your family, and we can figure this out together. Highlighted Sustainability Projects:

Current:

• Harlowe Green has free recycling programs through Terracycle bins and Earthub donation bins. All items must be cleaned and sorted before drop-off.

  • Terracycle: 3L/4L plastic bladders from refill boxes, empty cosmetic packages, plastic razors

  • Earthhub: Milk and bread bag tags, exterior bags from 4L milk bag, mascara wands, dead writing utensils, egg cartons, prescription pill bottles, dried out Swiffer/Febreeze product, plastic bottle caps

• Mason jar deposit program encourages re-use of mason jars by giving credit on your order for mason jars that are washed clean of any product, with no cracks or breaks, and still retain the Harlowe Green sticker in place

• Member of 1% for the Planet, an organization where members contribute at least 1% of their annual sales or salary to environmental causes.
